This tour adds the peaceful eastern hills to the bustle of the city. After a day at Kathmandu's World Heritage sites and a morning in Patan, you'll drive up to Nagarkot for sunset and sunrise, walk along the rim towards Dhulikhel and spend a night in the old Newar town.
On your last day, you'll walk from Dhulikhel to the monastery at Namo Buddha before driving back through Bhaktapur. It's an easy, relaxed pace, with comfortable hotels and short walks, so you'll go home rested rather than exhausted.

Day by day
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
- Airport welcome and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu city tour
- Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Day 3: Patan and Nagarkot
- Morning in Patan Durbar Square. Afternoon drive to Nagarkot for sunset.
Day 4: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel
- Sunrise, then a walk or drive along the rim to Dhulikhel. Evening in the old bazaar.
Day 5: Namo Buddha and departure
- Walk to Namo Buddha (3 to 4 hours), drive back via Bhaktapur, transfer to the airport or your hotel.

Questions about this tour
What should I wear?
Something that covers your shoulders and knees, and shoes you can slip on and off easily. Some temples will ask you to take off your shoes and any leather items before you go in.
Are entrance fees included?
No. You'll pay the fees in Nepali rupees at each gate, and your guide will show you where. Hang on to your ticket, though, as some sites check it more than once.
Can we change the order or add a stop?
Of course! The tour is private, so your guide can swap sites around or add a short stop on the way, as long as everything still fits into the day.
