UNESCO lists the Kathmandu Valley as a single World Heritage Site made up of seven monument zones. You could try to see them all in one day, but you'd spend most of it in traffic. Over two days, there's time to actually sit in the squares and let your guide tell you the stories behind them.
Day one covers the city: Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Day two heads east and south, to Changu Narayan, the oldest temple in the valley, on its ridge above the rice fields; then Bhaktapur's three squares; and finally Patan, finishing as the sun sets over the palace square.
You'll go back to your own hotel each night, so this tour works with any hotel in the valley.

Questions about this tour
What should I wear?
Something that covers your shoulders and knees, and shoes you can slip on and off easily. Some temples will ask you to take off your shoes and any leather items before you go in.
Are entrance fees included?
No. You'll pay the fees in Nepali rupees at each gate, and your guide will show you where. Hang on to your ticket, though, as some sites check it more than once.
Can we change the order or add a stop?
Of course! The tour is private, so your guide can swap sites around or add a short stop on the way, as long as everything still fits into the day.
Can we do the two days apart?
Yes, no problem. Just book the first day and tell us your second date in the booking notes.
Want to change something?
Every tour is private, so we can easily change the start time, add a stop or even join two tours into one day. Just tell us what you have in mind!
